Configure Location and Hours

Learn to configure the physical address, GPS coordinates, and business hours of your branches.

Why is it Important?

  • Delivery Calculation: GPS coordinates allow automatic distance and shipping cost calculation
  • Real-Time Status: The system shows if the branch is "Open Now" based on configured hours
  • Nearby Search: Customers can find the nearest branch to their location
  • Order Control: Orders are automatically blocked outside business hours

Configure Physical Location

1. Access Edit Branch

Go to Admin Panel → Branches → Click on the branch you want to edit → "Location" tab

2. Complete the Address

Street:

Include street name and number. Example: "123 Main Street"

City:

Example: "New York", "Los Angeles", "Chicago"

State/Province:

Example: "California", "Texas", "New York"

Country:

Default: Argentina. You can change it if your business is in another country.

Zip Code:

Example: "90210", "10001", "60601"

3. Configure GPS Coordinates (Very Important)

GPS coordinates are CRUCIAL for delivery calculation and nearby branch search.

📍 How to Get Coordinates from Google Maps:

  1. 1. Open Google Maps in your browser
  2. 2. Search for the exact address of your branch
  3. 3. RIGHT-click on the location marker
  4. 4. Select "Copy coordinates" or you'll see the coordinates at the top
  5. 5. They will appear in format: -26.8241, -65.2226 (Latitude, Longitude)

Latitude:

First number. Example: 40.7128 (New York, USA)

Longitude:

Second number. Example: -74.0060 (New York, USA)

⚠️ Warning: If you don't configure GPS coordinates, the system will NOT be able to calculate delivery zones or show the branch in nearby searches.

4. Delivery Notes (Optional)

Add special instructions for delivery drivers:

  • Nearby landmarks
  • Access instructions (gate, doorbell, etc.)
  • Special entry hours
Example: "Ring doorbell twice. Across from the main square."

Configure Business Hours

Hours determine when the branch can receive orders. The system automatically shows if it's "Open Now" or "Closed".

Configuration by Day of the Week

For each day of the week you must configure:

Monday - Friday (Example)Open

Opening Time:

09:00

Closing Time:

20:00
Saturday (Example)Open

Opening Time:

10:00

Closing Time:

18:00
Sunday (Example)Closed

Check "Closed" if you don't open that day

Time Format: Use 24-hour format (00:00 to 23:59). Examples: 09:00, 14:30, 22:00

How the Automatic System Works

Real-Time Status

The system compares current time with configured hours and shows "🟢 Open Now" or "🔴 Closed". This updates automatically every minute.

Order Blocking

If the branch is closed, customers CANNOT place orders from the online store. They'll see a message indicating the next opening hours.

Distance Calculation

Using GPS coordinates, the system calculates the distance between the branch and customer address using the Haversine formula (2 decimal precision).

💡 Tips and Best Practices

  • Precise Coordinates: Use Google Maps to get exact coordinates. A difference of 0.001 can mean 100 meters of error.
  • Realistic Hours: Set hours you can consistently meet. Changing them constantly confuses customers.
  • Preparation Time: Leave margin between closing and last order. If you close at 22:00, consider not accepting orders after 21:30.
  • Holidays: Update special hours for holidays in advance.
